Brenda Bear BarnettBrenda Bear Barnett grew up in southern Missouri around West Plains. Her father, James Barnett, was a well known Pentecostal Preacher and Brenda started singing at a young age in church and with various local Ozark bands. During this time she started developing her bass playing and entertaining skills. At the age of 18, she auditioned for the Dusty Rhodes Show in Branson, Mo. Shortly after she met and began working with Sandra and Donna Rhodes and Charlie Chalmers. Together they toured with Paul Anka, sang in several Farm Aid Shows with Willie Nelson, performed on the Grand Old Opry and the Nashville Now TV Show. Brenda’s voice is on many of the recordings you hear everyday. Her background vocal credits include: Paul Anka, Bobby Vinton, B.J. Thomas, Tanya Tucker, Englebert Humperdink, Mel Tillis, Roy Clark, Moe Bandy, Ray Stevens, Jim Stafford, Boxcar Willie, Ferlin Husky and Cristy Lane. She has written songs for The Oak Ridge Boys and Conway Twitty, including the No. 1 record, “The Clown”. In the early 90’s, she performed in an off Broadway play, “Holiday On Ice”, in New York City, as the female lead singer. She then returned to Branson, Mo., and continued working in recording studios during the day and shows at night. In 1998 Brenda joined Cash’s White River Hoedown in Mountain View. She has amazed the audiences with her tremendous talent as an entertainer. She is one of the best bass players you will ever hear along with a fantastic voice. Her quick wit also makes her a great emcee. Brenda continues writing songs and working in recording studios in Branson and Springfield, Missouri. Roger JeffordRoger Jefford was born and raised in Floral, Arkansas. He started playing the drums when he was in High School. Roger and several friends of his formed a rock-n-roll band and practiced in a garage until they got so good that they were sought after by ever large gathering around Independence County. Roger is a perfectionist and would not perform until they got it right. He was director of several bands through the years and fronted for many major artists. Roger started performing at Cash’s in 1999. He has a strong voice with a range you won't believe. He sounds like Allen Jackson or even better. People are mesmerized at his talent as a drummer, lead singer, and back-up vocalist. Roger is the most dependable musician that has ever worked at the White River Hoedown. He is always the first person to arrive no matter where they are playing. That is a great quality to have in a musician. He is a member of the Floral Baptist Church and is married with four children. He works as a Draftsman for Jaco Construction Company in Newport, Arkansas, and still lives in Floral.
Sandra RhodesSandra Rhodes was born in Memphis, TN.. She is the daughter of Dot and Dusty Rhodes who were part of the famous Rhodes Family Band, along with Slim, Speck and Bea Rhodes. She began singing on her family’s Memphis based television program, “The Rhodes Show” at the age of eight. Her mother taught her to play the guitar when she was ten years old. She continued playing and singing with her brothers, Gordon and Perry and sister Donna on various shows including “The Louisiana Hayride” and “The Grand Old Opry”. Sandra enjoyed her first commercial success as a songwriter at the age of fifteen with a top ten country/pop single “How Much Can A Lonely Heart Stand”, recorded by Grand Ole Opry Star, Skeeter Davis. Sandra and her sister Donna went on to record for RCA Victor Records as “The Lonesome Rhodes” in the early 70’s, with Chet Atkins as their producer. They achieved commercial acclaim with a self tested album and several chart singles. During this time they performed on many Nashville based television shows including, The Porter Wagoner Show, Pop Goes the Country with Ralph Emery and made frequent guest spots on The Grand Ole Opry. Sandra met her former husband, Charlie Chalmers at Sam Phillips’ Sun Records Recording Studio. She and Charlie, along with sister Donna, formed a much sought after background singing group. Their list of credits include: Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, B.J. Thomas, Paul Anka, Mac Davis, Liza Minelli, Jackie DeShannon, Tanya Tucker, Ann Peebles, Neil Diamond, Andy Gibb, Harry Chapin, Englebert Humperdink, John Mellencamp, Olivia Newton-John, Ray Stevens and Al Green. She has written songs for Isaac Hayes, The Oak Ridge Boys, Al Green, Liza Minneli and Conway Twitty, including his number one record, “The Clown”. In the early 90’s, Sandra, Charlie and Brenda Barnett traveled and performed with Mel Tillis for several years. While living in Branson they worked and recorded with various artist including, Roy Clark, Ray Stevens, Bobby Vinton, Box-Car Willie, Jim Stafford, Moe Bandy, Foster Brooks, Ferlin Huskey and Cristy Lane. Sandra joined with her father Dusty Rhodes at Cash’s White River Hoedown in 1998. Audiences’ are in awe at her fantastic lead guitar playing, lead singing and back up vocals. She is truly a spectacular entertainer. She also continues to write songs and do a lot of studio work in Branson and Springfield, Missouri. Donna RhodesBorn into the famous Rhodes family of Slim, Speck, Dusty and Bea Rhodes, Donna grew up singing with the family as far back as she can remember. She is the daughter of Dot and Dusty Rhodes. She sang in family shows all her young life on the radio, on television and live. In the late 1960's she began singing harmonies on records with her sister Sandra. She has sang on records with Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, Al Green, Frank Sinatra, The Bee Gees, John Cougar Mellencamp, Garth Brooks, Loretta Lynn, Clint Black, Brenda Lee and many, many others. She and her sister, Sandra, were nominated for a Grammy Award for their debut album, "The Lonesome Rhodes". On The Nashville Network (TNN) she led the Nashville Now Singers for over 10 years on the networks highest rated program, Nashville Now, hosted by Ralph Emery. Jordan Anderson
Jordan Anderson is 18 years old. She was born in Conway, Arkansas. Her family moved back to the Mountain View area when Jordan was around 3 years old. She has grown up singing in church ever since she could talk. She has performed at Cash’s White River Hoedown on various occasions and loves being on stage.Jordan has competed in several competitions such as Music City Rising Star Youth Competition in Nashville, Tn., American Kids, Inc. in Branson, Mo., Majestic Theatre American Talent Search and Colgate Country Showdown. Jordan was a member of American Kids, Inc. for several years and won many competitions. One of her favorite memories of American Kids was in 2002. She was part of a television taping of the Oakridge Boys Christmas Special where she met the Oakridge Boys. Jordan also remembers meeting Ed McMann at the Majestic Theatre American Talent Search Competition. Jordan won the local Stone County Fair Talent Competition in 2002 when she was 12 years old. She has also won the last 5 out of 7 years, to win in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008. She has competed in other local talent competitions such as the Folk Festival, Bean Fest, and the Arkansas State Fair. She has participated in events such as the Mountain View Beta Variety Show, Nikki Lee Atwell Scholarship Foundation Fundraiser, and the Mountain View Christmas Tree Lighting along with other school events with the Mountain View Choir. Along with singing Jordan has won several beauty pageants too. Jordan is a senior at Mountain View School. She was voted Senior Maid of the Football Homecoming Court, elected Musical Masters of Who’s Who of Seniors, a member of Senior Beta, an Honor Roll Student, Senior High Basketball Manager, and Teacher’s Aide. She plans to go to college at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. The Cobb Brothers
The Cobb Brothers are Caleb (age14); Samuel (age 13) and Nathan (age 11 Yrs. Old). They are great entertainers to be so young. This year will be the third year they have been at Cash’s White River Hoedown and they get better ever year. They are crowd pleasers and we love having them on our show because you can tell they enjoy every minute of it and it gives us a touch of bluegrass that works well with our variety of music. We feel they have a very bright future.Joell Columb
Joell Columb, born in Arkansas, has been in many bands with many different genres. Since starting with the White River Hoedown Band in 1991…and then moving to California in 1993…she has played with some greats, such as Peter Distefano, from the band Porno for Pyros; recording an album with Peter in 2003, at West Lake Audio in Hollywood. (The same studio Michael Jackson recorded Thriller!)She has enjoyed performances as well, with acts such as The Mermen, Smash Mouth, and Cake. From 2006-2007, Joell toured with the two –time grammy-award-winner Mary Youngblood. Her own bands featuring her original alternative music include, Door –to- Door, Mother Wheel, Violet Reaction, Glimpse and finally Silver Service, the current project with singer/songwriter husband Adrian Columb. http://myspace.com/silverserviceband After the birth of her son, in 2008, Joell and her husband Adrian moved to Arkansas to be closer to family. And as things sometimes have a way of coming full circle, Joell is once again enjoying performances with the White River Hoedown Band, as well as continuing to write and perform or own original music. Zendel Rainy Zendel Rainey has been involved in the music business since his birth. He is the son of the famous song writer/performer Mr. Wayne Rainey. Mr. Rainey has written several number one hits for Hank Williams Sr. Zendel performed with his Father on the Grand Old Opera at the age of 11 playing a guitar. He later learned to play the piano and harmonica. He has been in the recording business for over 52 year. In 1992 he built a new recording studio at his home in Drasco called Rainey Recording Studio. He plays piano and harmonica as good as or better than anyone you will ever see. We are honored to have such a proficient musician performing at Cash’s White River Hoedown.
String Bean This is String Bean -an upcoming comedian. He plays a tub-bass and also joins in on some of the comedy skits. This is Aunt Minnie’s Grandson, D.J. Binnie.
